The Houston Texans signed Jones as an undrafted free agent in 2020 but were shortly waived by the team.
On April 7th, 2021, Jones was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He would have a breakout preseason where he obtained four sacks in four games, six QB hits, and thirteen QB pressures. And led the team in special teams tackles with six.
It was enough for him to make the Steelers’ 53-Man roster. However, it didn’t last long, as he was waived on September 28th, 2021.
He was claimed by the Los Angeles Rams one day later but was waived on December 25th, 2021.
The Jacksonville Jaguars then claimed Jones on December 27th, 2021. He would eventually be released on August 31st, 2022.
On September 1st, 2022, he was claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Steelers, thus joining the team for a second time.
His role was nothing more than a depth piece throughout the 2022 season. He would only rack up ten tackles on the year.
We here at SteelYinzers wish Jamir Jones the best in his future in the NFL.
