Steelers fans have been waiting to find out the team’s plans with offensive coordinator Matt Canada since their season ended in week 18. As of last Friday, the thoughts were the team would be sticking with Canada in the final year of his contract.
Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan says the team is rumored to be waiting for Byron Leftwich to be available before firing current OC Matt Canada.
Steelers rumor: Mike Tomlin is waiting to see if Byron Leftwich gets fired before making a move on Matt Canada.
How would swapping out Leftwich for Canada make you feel?

Leftwich played ten years in the NFL as a quarterback and was drafted in the first round, seventh overall in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent four years in Pittsburgh backing up former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
After his playing career, he joined former Steelers OC Bruce Arians with the Arizona Cardinals as a coaching intern. He would later join Arians in Tampa Bay as the Buccaneers offensive coordinator.
As of this writing, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are facing off against the Dallas Cowboys, which could be Leftwich’s final game with the Bucs. Leftwich has been considered for head coaching positions in the past but would be a major upgrade for the Steelers as offensive coordinator.
